With the HP OfficeJet J6400 All-in-One inkjet printer, users get wireless sharing, an automatic document feeder, and the ability to copy, scan and fax. Its affordable price is impressive, and print speeds are fast, at around 31 pages per minute for monochrome and 25 for black, and the cost of HP J6400 printer ink is affordable enough for small budgets.
The control panel of the J6400 might be a little imposing to novice users at first, especially those used to simpler models. The benefit of one-touch buttons for common operations will soon be obvious, however, and users should find the layout fairly intuitive. The unit provides options for scanning, including a flatbed platen and a 35-page automatic document feeder that comes in handy for scanning multiple pages at once.
Don't let its office-centric design fool you, however. The J6400 can provide high-quality photo output, and even utilizes extra colors of OfficeJet J6400 ink (photo gray and photo color) to enhance its color palette. A maximum resolution of up to 4800x1200 dpi provides a lot of detail for high-quality photo results. The 250-sheet input tray provides ample room for home or small office users without the pain of constantly reloading.
The optional colors can make replacing HP J6400 ink cartridges more expensive, but users can choose to use the two standard OfficeJet J6400 ink cartridges for most jobs. If users stick to the recommended monthly volume of 200 to 800 pages, they should find the cost for HP J6400 printer ink to be manageable.
With a good combination of office functions and photo features like memory card slots, the HP J6400 inkjet manages to skirt the line between business and home use. This makes it a good choice for buyers who want a little of both worlds.
